Sassy Clipboard

After many years of using my clipboard, I decided to give it a new look. I bought it for a dollar when I first starting teaching so I think it deserved it! ;) I just covered it with Duck Brand Adhesive Liner, 20 X 22 zebra theme. I added some letters and a picture from my scrapbook collection and voila! I can't wait to use it! I hope your clipboard is as sassy! :)

Table Baskets

I decided to spice up my new table baskets!  I bought the rectangular caddies from the Dollar Store (I LOVE this store). I cut out pieces of zebra duct tape and decorated the caddy.  I even placed a strip of duct tape inside the handle! I love them!  What do you think?

Writing Focus Sticks

I found this really cool website and I just went nuts! ;)  The Focus Sticks are to help students focus on specific skills of writing.  I figured to give this a try.  I'm not taking credit and I can say that I can't wait to begin to implement it with my students!  Thank you so much Make, Take & Teach for this great idea!  The creator has everything listed on her site.  I did do something different; I covered the popsicle sticks with Mod Podge in order to protect the sticker, so I strongly suggest this great little trick.  I numbered each stick in order to avoid confusion and lost Focus Sticks.

I also glued the posters to my zebra themed ribbon.  I glued the beginning writers posters on one ribbon with yellow palm trees on the top so the students can remember that these skills match the yellow popsicle stick.  Then, I glued the advanced writers posters together on the fantastic zebra theme ribbon and placed green palm trees on the top so that it matches the green popsicle stick.  I hope you can use this with your students.  Have you ever used Focus Sticks before?  How did it go?  If you haven't used them, what do you think about them?

Box Tops Collection Container

Since my theme has changed this year, I am starting from scratch.  Yikes! ;0   But it's fun!  As teachers, we are always trying to figure out how we can reuse a bottle, can, or container before we disregard it.  After I finished using the Lysol wipes, I decided to make my Box Tops Collection Container.  I covered it with Duck Brand Adhesive Liner, 20 X 22 zebra theme that I purchased from Walmart and then I glued the teal ribbon on the top and on the bottom of the container.  I cut out some stars and wrote Box Tops.  I hot-glued the stars to the middle of the container.  My wonderful husband sprayed painted the top of the container white.  I covered the opening part of the lid with Zebra Duct Tape bought from Office Max.  Voila!  All done! Now we just have to fill it up! :)  What do you think?

Grab Button!

I just finalized my very own Grab Button!  I can't believe it!  It took me FOREVER, but I did it all my myself!  Thanks to the FREE online tutorials that can be viewed here.  I did have some frustrating moments, but thanks to Google, I was able to find my answers.  All this talk about HTML is so overwhelming!  YiKeS! So for those of you looking for an easy way out, I did the homework!  After you create your beautiful button, click here to get help generating the HTML code.  It's a lifesaver! Thank you TBA and My Cool Realm!   What do you think of my button?

My First Blog

I'm so excited to finally start my FiRsT blog! I can't believe it!  I have always wanted my own website and here it is!  I have the time this summer to view various blogs from other teachers and I just don't know how they do it!  Those sites are so beautiful, so I took my chance this evening or should I say this morning, it's 2:14AM! ;) I have to thank my daughter for helping me and all her patience!  She's my lifesaver!

Honestly, I feel overwhelmed since my goal is to make my blog has beautiful as the ones I've visited.  I guess we all have to start somewhere, so here it is.  My other goal is to create this blog for students and parents to view and obtain resources and information that will help them at home and in the future.  I also plan to post pictures throughout the year, so I'll keep my fingers crossed!

I would love to read your comments and suggestions!  Good-luck to us all!
